TAMPA, FL (Tampa Bay Lightning Communications) – The Tampa Bay Lightning will hold a viewing party for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft at Champps Americana Sports Bar at International Plaza from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, June 30. This year’s NHL Draft is being held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and the Lightning currently hold the third overall selection in the first round.
Lightning Radio will broadcast a special edition of its show, Lightning Hockey Night, with all the action of the draft at Champps on AM 1250 WHNZ from 3-5 p.m., featuring hosts Rick Peckham, Dave Mishkin and Bobby “the Chief” Taylor. Former Lightning great Brian Bradley will also be featured at the event and will interact with fans. Additionally, WDAE AM 620’s Steve Duemig will broadcast his afternoon radio show live from New Jersey on Friday afternoon from 3 to 6 p.m. and will also be on hand for Sunday’s broadcast.
Fans in attendance wearing Lightning apparel will be eligible for 10 percent discounts on food specials at Champps throughout the afternoon. Additionally, Lightning Season Ticket Members wearing their STM jerseys or that present their STM card will receive 15 percent off their food purchases. ThunderBug, as well as the Lightning Girls, will that be at the event mingling with fans. Individuals attending the event will have the chance to win free raffle prizes. Lightning fans will have the chance to purchase the official 2013 Lightning draft hat, as well as an exclusive Marty St. Louis Art Ross Trophy-winner puck and t-shirt.
