It was a rough afternoon for Tyler Murphy and the #22 Florida Gators offense as they could get very little going on offense against the #14 ranked Missouri Tigers in Columbia, MO.  Murphy and the Gators offense finished with only 141 total yards of offense as they get blown out by Maty Mauk and the Tigers 36-17.

Mauk making his first start for the Tigers this season didn’t miss a beat as Missouri’s offense continued it’s torrid pace which they have enjoyed all season long.  Mizzou came into the game with UF averaging 515.7 yards per game and scoring only 41 or fewer points once this season.  The red-shirt freshman quarterback took his first step forward finishing with 295 yards passing and two touchdowns (1 rushing).

The Tigers didn’t waste any time from the beginning of the game as they scored their first touchdown only twenty-two seconds into the game.  Maty Mauk’s pass to Bud Sasser in the corner of the end zone gave the Tigers a 7-0 lead, and that lead they would never relinquish.

The Gators offense only had one offensive drive over twenty yards in fourteen possessions.  The Tigers defense finished with six sacks of Murphy, and only allowed 92 yards through the air which is a season low for the Gators.  The Gators got within three points at the beginning of the second half on a 100 yard kickoff return from Solomon Patton making it a 13-10 Mizzou lead.   However the Tigers would roll after that scoring 23 of the final 30 points in the game.

Tigers running back Henry Josey rushed for 136 yards on 18 carries with a touchdown.  Kelvin Taylor led the Gators rushing attack with 74 yards and a touchdown.  Andrew Baggett added five field goals for the Mizzou attack as they move to 7-0 (3-0 SEC).  Will Muschamp is now 4-4 in his last eight games, and 4-10 overall against ranked opponents at Florida.

The Gators will now head to play Georgia next week.  You can hear the game on WDAE (620AM/95.3FM) Saturday beginning at 1:30pm with the pregame, and a 3:30pm kickoff.
