Hillsborough County Commissioner Ken Hagan joined the Ron and Ian Show Tuesday and reacted to some landmark statements made by St. Pete Mayor Bill Foster.
Hagan called "critically important" Foster's acknowledgement that the Rays should be allowed to look into sites in Tampa, an area where Foster had thus far refused to give in.
Though nothing has been formally motioned Hagan's gears sound like they're cranking. He said he'd planned on coming to Bucs practice Tuesday, but that changed when he heard the Foster comments.
But amidst his enthusiasm Hagan did sent out a note of caution.
"We don't have a pot of money here. We're not gonna raise taxes to pay for a stadium," he said.
Hagan did, however, get pretty specific as to where he'd like to see a facility -- "it's tough to beat a downtown stadium" -- and estimated that a new stadium would lead to 7-8 thousand more per game in attendance, but more importantly would present much more in the way of suite sales.
