ESCOBAR'S RETURN COMING SOON: Manager Joe Maddon said prior to Monday's game that he expects SS Yunel Escobar (hand) to return "soon."  Escobar, who was hit in the hand by a pitch Saturday, took ground balls at Tropicana Field Monday, and Maddon said that Escobar could play defensively tonight if needed.  His return will likely come Tuesday.

ZOBRIST TO RETURN TUESDAY: Super-utility man Ben Zobrist, who left the team Sunday due to a death in the family, is expected to return Tuesday as well.  The team did not place Zobrist on the bereavement list because that would mean Zobrist could not return until Wednesday at the earliest.

Zobrist and wife Julianna tweeted the following late Sunday night.
