3 separate crashes close I-75 southbound in Pasco County

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Pasco County authorities say there are three separate crashes on southbound I-75 right now including one fatality.

Drivers are urged to use caution as at least 8 cars are involved in one area by I-75 and the SR 52 overpass.

A Pasco Sheriffs Office K-9 unit was involved in a crash with minor damage, PCSO said. The deputy was assisting with an unrelated rollover accident when his vehicle was hit, according to deputies, and there were no injuries to the deputy or the K-9.

The unrelated rollover accident resulted in a Bayflight transport of at least one injury, deputies said.

Authorities said SB I-75 traffic is shutdown at mile marker 284 with traffic backed up past SR 52 southbound. Southbound I-75 traffic is being diverted to SR 52.

Southbound traffic on I-75 blocked northbound traffic unaffected.
