Arrest made Sulphur Springs fatal shooting

FROSTPROOF, Fla. (970 WFLA) – Tampa Police say the suspect wanted for a fatal shooting in the Sulphur Springs neighborhood on March 20 is now behind bars.

Police say 18-year-old Johnson Louis fled the scene after pulling out a gun and shooting 35-year-old Keith Jones during a verbal dispute that took place in front of a home at 8108 North Semmes Street

Police say Jones was taken to a local hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

Authorities say they later caught up with Louis in a rural area of PolkCounty where after several hours of surveillance, the task force confirmed that Louis was inside a small residence in the middle of an orange grove near the corner of banks road and alternate highway 27.

TPD says law enforcement surrounded the residence on March 25 and Louis was taken into custody without incident.  Polk county sheriff deputies assisted with the arrest and booked the suspect into the Polk county jail where he is being held without bond, according to TPD.
