TAMPA, Fla (News Channel 8)- Torrential downpours are just one of the hazards Citrus County deputies faced as they searched for 75-year-old Eileen Nuismer. "Very heavily wooded, probably the worst conditions you can think off, lot of brush, stickers, trees and stuff," said Sgt. Bobby Lambert.
Nuismer's husband returned from Alabama on Sunday and couldn't find his wife at their home on the banks of the Withlacoochee River.
But it wasn't until Monday afternoon when he called for help.
