TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - It's that time of the year--time to stock up on supplies, new clothes and electronics for the new school year. And once again, Florida is allowing you to do that, tax-free.
The state's Tax-Free Holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. Friday and runs through midnight, Sunday.
So, what items are tax-free? In addition to clothes, backpacks and related school supplies, there are personal computers, tablets, keyboards and monitors, though there is a $700 limit, so anything above that amount will be taxed.
What are not tax-exempt? Cellphones, video games and clothing items such as jewelry, watches and sporting gear.
