HCSO investigating fatal hit and run crash

SEFFNER, Fla. (970 WFLA)Hillsborough County sheriff’s deputies said they are investigating a fatal pedestrian hit and run traffic crash.

Deputies said it early Saturday at 12:12 am, a motorist called 9-1-1 and stated there was man laying in the grass along the eastside of S. Parsons Ave., approximately 1/4 mile south of old east Hillsborough Ave. in Seffner.

Deputies said they were able to determine the man appeared to be the victim of a hit and run traffic crash.

Sometime around midnight, deputies said the victim - who has been positively identified as 25-year-old Thomas Woods - was walking northbound on Parsons Avenue along the east side of the roadway when an unknown make and model vehicle traveling north on Parsons Avenue struck him and knocked him to the side of the road.

Detectives are asking for anyone who may have any information regarding this incident or anyone who may notice any unexplained vehicular damage that occurred overnight to contact HCSO at 813-247-8200.
