(Sarasota, Fla. - WFLA) On Wednesday just before 1 a.m., a passerby told officers a man had been stabbed in the chest near 16th Street and North Tamiami Trail, in Sarasota. When officers responded, they found Scott Wilson holding his chest. Wilson told officers he was just stabbed by a man dressed as a woman.
Wilson told officers he pulled over to pick up the woman, now known as Ricardo Toro, because he thought he was a woman named Jessica. Once in the car, Wilson realized it was not Jessica and asked Toro to get out. Wilson then grabbed the end of his wooden baton and told Toro to get out of the vehicle for a second time.
Toro pulled out a knife and stabbed Wilson in the arm and chest, took the keys to the ignition and threw them from the vehicle. Wilson told officers, Toro got out and started walking southbound on North Tamiami Trail. Wilson got out of the vehicle to confront Toro since he thought he still had the keys.
Wilson was confronted by Toro's boyfriend, Josh Gaudette, who was unaware of the stabbing, but saw Toro and Wilson in an argument. Gaudette punched Wilson in the side of the head.
Toro was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Gaudette was arrested and charged with battery.
