More Wildfires Pop Up

Tampa, Fla.-(970 WFLA)-More wildfires have erupted in Florida as we continue dry ahead of the coming rainy season.

Hillsborough Fire-Rescue units responded to a brush fire along Lithia-Pinecrest road.  A total of 11 acres were involved.  There was a concern that 200 acres could have become involved, but quick work by firefighters got the fire contained.

It took fire-rescue personnel about three hours to control the Lithia blaze.  No buildings were damaged.  There were no injuries.

A wildfire along Alligator Alley, coupled with fog, caused a portion of Interstate 75 to be closed.  But, the Interstate, between S.R. 29 and U.S. 41 and Oil Well road, have been reopened in Collier County.
