TAMPA, FLA. (970 WFLA) - Thousands of students are heading to class this morning all over the Bay Area, with the exception of Hillsborough County kids.
Districts have made campus security a priority. Teachers are focused on the new national Common Core educational standards. And schools are dedicated to taking student achievement to an even higher level.
But districts say, for this week, one of the most important things is making sure drivers get used to the extra traffic congestion.
Even in Hillsborough County, where students return to class on Tuesday, school buses will be out on the roads, participating in a dry run of their routes.
School begins today for Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, Manatee and Sarasota counties.
