Outback To Continue Bowl Sponsorship

Tampa, Fla.-(970 WFLA)-The Outback Bowl's long-time title sponsor, Outback Steakhouse, has agreed to renew its contract with the New Year’s Day bowl for six additional years through the January 2020 game.

The new deal begins after the upcoming 2014 game and will extend the Tampa-based company’s name sponsorship of the bowl to a total of 25 years, the longest college bowl game title sponsorship in history.

The game has generated an estimated $1 billion in economic impact for the Tampa Bay community, hundreds-of-millions of dollars in exposure for the region and contributed $109 million in payouts to the 26 universities in the Big Ten and Southeastern Conference.

The Outback Bowl is currently in negotiations with network partner ESPN and officials from the Big Ten and Southeastern Conferences about extending those relationships as well.
