Police: Temple Terrace pharmacist beaten in robbery

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. (970 WFLA) – Police said they are searching for a suspect in the robbery of a Temple Terrace pharmacy Saturday night that left the pharmacist severely beaten.

Police said just before 8 p.m. an unknown suspect forced entry into the back of the Omega Drugs Pharmacy building located at 11410 N. 56th St. and then surprised the pharmacist from behind.

Police said the suspect struck the victim several times, while demanding drugs.

After the suspect left, police said the pharmacist called authorities. When police arrived, they said they found the pharmacist bleeding, with multiple injuries to his upper body and no indication a weapon was used.

The suspect escaped with a small quantity of unspecified drugs, police said.

The pharmacist remains in critical condition at an area hospital, police said. Police are not releasing his name at this time, officials said, pending further investigation.

Anyone with information about this crime should contact the Temple Terrace Police Department at (813) 989-7110.
