Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams aired a number of grievances about the game's referees following the Eagles 24-16 defeat of the Skins. According to Williams, officials cursed at him and called him names on a drive late in the first half which incited a post game complaint from Williams.
Williams accused Ellison of the foul conduct and said the referee called him “garbage a–” and “disrespectful motherf—er.”
Williams identified umpire Roy Ellison by number as one of the game officials responsible for the name-calling.
“To me this is a player’s league. I just don’t think there’s no room for you to have to take that from the team and the refs," Williams said in a post-game interview. "I think it’s very unprofessional and it sucks. I’m at a loss for words. You never expect that as a player going into a game to have to beef with the refs also.”
