Former Lightning co-owner Oren Koules and general manager Brian Lawton could be getting together again.
According to Tuesday's New York Post the pair are "not far off" from a deal to take a minority stake in the team.
They owned the Lightning from 2007 to 2010 but Koules, 52, lost control of the team when he couldn't buy out partner Lawton.
The Devils' controlling company failed on a $3 million interest payment in April and the team is currently in danger of defaulting.
