(via Tampa Bay Lightning Communications) - The Tampa Bay Lightning will be hosting Military Appreciation Night on Thursday when they take on the Edmonton Oilers at 7:30 p.m. at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.
The Lightning will welcome more than 3,000 military service men and women, both active and retired, from MacDill Air Force Base, the U.S. Coast Guard, VA Hospitals, local recruiters and their families. All military members will who show their I.D. will receive a 25% discount on all concessions and 35% off at the Lightning’s official team store, Tampa Bay Sports, powered by Reebok.
All military veterans and their families (with a game ticket) are invited to a pre-game happy hour on the West Patio prior to the game. Take advantage of 25 percent off beverages and complimentary snacks starting at 5:30 p.m. Must have valid military ID.
There will be two HUMVVW’s and Bomber Girls on Ford Thunder Alley prior to the game. Lightning players will wear camouflage jerseys during warm-ups to honor the military personnel attending the game. Also, a military enlistment ceremony will take place before the game. The Lightning’s partner, Chase, will be giving away a new home to an active military member during the game.
Additionally the Lightning will be beginning a Cell Phones for Soldiers promotion that will begin on Thursday evening and run through the entire month of November. Fans that donate their old cell phones anytime during November at the McDonald’s ® Ticket Office inside the Times Forum will receive a ticket voucher for an upcoming select Lightning game.
