When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made the move to go with rookie quarterback Mike Glennon over the more seasoned quarterback Josh Freeman, fans and media alike were very skeptical as to if the move made the Buccaneers better at the position.  With Glennon now entering his eighth game under center, some skeptics are starting to turn around on the idea that Glennon could be a possible answer for the Bucs at the most important position in the NFL.

Longtime NFL scribe Len Pasquarelli, who now works for an Atlanta radio station, joined WDAE’s ‘The Sports Page’ and praised the rookie QB for the start he’s gotten to with the Buccaneers.

“I think he doesn’t make mistakes obviously and doesn’t turn the ball over which is important for any quarterback, particularly the young guys” said Pasquarelli.  “I think he’s developing pretty well.   He throws the ball accurately, throws the deep ball pretty well.  So I think he’s a guy that you’re going to be able to build around.”

Pasquarelli feels though that the more success Glennon has during the year, the more likely that Head Coach Greg Schiano will stay in Tampa Bay to help the continued development of Glennon.

“If something were to happen to Schiano, who probably is a lot better off than he was two week ago, does a new coach embrace this guy as my quarterback?” said Pasquarelli.  “Again, there doesn’t seem to be the saber-rattling down there about Schiano that were was a couple of weeks ago when he didn’t have any wins.  So you would think that that marriage is going to be one that lasts for awhile now.”
