Bucs Monday Report: Glennon Regressing?

By Tom Krasniqi

The scoreboard read-- Bucs 27, Bills 6.  The defense played extremely well.  The offense got a big play early from running back Bobby Rainey on an 80 yard touchdown run but the numbers after the first quarter were not pretty-- 28 yards of offense in the second half.

Rookie quarterback Mike Glennon threw two touchdowns, but he also tossed two interceptions and looked lost at times.  Glennon finished the game by completing just 9 of 25 passes for just 90 yards.  Ugly numbers indeed.

During his Monday press conference, head coach Greg Schiano was asked if he thought Glennon has taken a step backward over the last two weeks.

"No, I don't think so," Schiano replied.  "I think you have to look at his body of work, especially as a rookie quarterback.  He's faced two of the better pass defenses for sure."

Schiano referred to Carolina and Buffalo the last two weeks.  It won't get any easier on Sunday when the Bucs host the 9-4 Niners.

Also during his Monday presser, Schiano updated the injuries.  Center Jeremy Zuttah is day to day with a shoulder injury.  Defensive end William Gholston suffered a head injury and is going through the concussion protocol testing.
