Bucs Sign Draft Pick QB Mike Glennon

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today the signing of 2013 NFL Draft pick QB Mike Glennon to a four-year contract.

Glennon (6-6, 225) was selected in the third round (73rd overall) out of North Carolina State University, where he started 26-of-36 games for the Wolfpack, completing 646-of-1,069 passes (60.4 percent) for 7,411 yards and 63 touchdowns. Glennon finished his career at N.C. State ranked in the top five in passing touchdowns (third), pass completions (third), passing yards (fourth) and passing attempts (fourth). Glennon’s 7,411 career passing yards rank 25th in Atlantic Coast Conference history.

During his final season, Glennon completed 330-of-564 passes for 4,031 yards and 31 touchdowns, joining Philip Rivers as the only N.C. State quarterbacks to ever throw for more than 4,000 yards, and rank fourth on the ACC’s single-season all-time list, behind Matt Ryan, Chris Weinke and Rivers. With his additional two rushing scores, Glennon had 33 total touchdowns in 2012, the fourth-highest single-season total in Wolfpack history.

In his first year as a starter, his redshirt junior season, Glennon completed 283-of-453 passes (62.5 percent) for 3,054 yards and 31 touchdowns - tied for the second-most in N.C. State history. He was also a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Academic Honor Roll and an Academic All-ACC pick.

A native of Centreville, Va., Glennon attended Westfield (Fairfax County, Va.) High School, where he earned Parade All-American honors and was named the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2007.
