Former Bucs tight end and current pre- and post-game host Anthony Becht joined The Sports Page Monday morning for the weekly "Walking The Plank" segment.
Tom Jones brought up Darrelle Revis' comments after the game in open locker room regarding the MRSA infestation. Revis said it has been a distraction, and Jones asked Becht, who spent years in NFL locker rooms, if the off-the-field incidents are affecting the Bucs.
"I hope not, because I think that's kind of a B.S. call," Becht said. "I mean listen, you know, there are some issues going on over there with that MRSA - you go through it. But that still doesn't take away my time to go watch film, break things down, get on the field, practice, do what you have to do. I mean, they're not missing those minutes, they just might be taking more minutes out of the day to do it. So, if it's your job, you have to do what you have to do to get prepared to win.
"It's about W's in this game, guys, and if you're going to make excuses about things that are going on in the building - yeah, it does take some time up in your day because you have to do some more things, but at the end of the day you have to be ready to go by gameday and you have to put a plan in place.
"These are the obstacles and adversities. Every year teams have those. You have to be better at how you handle them, and right now we're [Bucs] not handling them very well."
