After another disheartening loss in the final moments of the Bucs 16-14 loss to the New Orleans Saints, some are beginning to question if there is an internal squabble between head coach Greg Schiano and quarterback Josh Freeman. A report by CBS Sports’ Jason LaCanfora surfacing before the 4:05pm kickoff on Sunday said that Freeman is likely to seek a trade before the NFL trade deadline next month.
Freeman following his 9-22 125 yard performance on Sunday denied any notion of seeking a trade. However with four touchdowns and eleven interceptions in his last five games combined, some are questioning his play on the field more than everything happening off the field.
The latest coming from Buccaneers linebacker Jonathan Casillas as he joined ‘The Sports Page’ on WDAE Monday morning. Casillas boasted about the effort of the Buccaneers defense against Drew Brees, but also believes the blame must be shifted to the offensive side of the ball for the loss.
“A quarterback with a defense like this, he has to be able to find ways to win games” said Casillas. “That includes the head coach, that includes the players behind him.”
Casillas said that there is no sense of panic inside the Buccaneers organization after an 0-2 start, but did say he hopes to move on from the loss to the Saints following a film session later today.
