Every week Bucs media members get a chance to ask questions of the opposing head coach and so on Wednesday it was time to talk to Chip Kelly.
Yes, the Chip Kelly whom the Buccaneers offered the head coaching job to before Kelly said no, eventually leading to the decision to go with Greg Schiano instead.
WDAE's Rick Stroud was the reporter who asked Kelly just how close he came to going with Tampa Bay.
"I looked at it very hard," said Kelly, adding he was "impressed" with GM Mark Dominik and the Glazer family that owns the team.
"My decision at that point in time was about where I was, extremely close to the staff at Oregon, and my players. Wnen push came to shove I couldn't leave them at that time," Kelly said.
Of course a year later he left them for the Eagles job.
