Florida shot miserably in the first half Saturday but led 23-19 at half, due to a defense that was the big factor in a 66-49 win against Fresno State.
The game was part of the Orange Bowl Classic played in Sunrise. It aired live on WDAE.
Casey Prather scored 16 points to lead Florida.
"This was probably our best game defensively from start to finish," said Gator head coach Billy Donovan.
Florida (9-2, ranked 16th nationally) held a sick 47-24 rebounding advantage with Will Yeguete grabbing 10, half on the offensive end.
And the Gators picked up the offense in the second half, shooting 58 per cent after a 29 clip in the first when the team went 1-for-13 on 3s.
The Bulldogs fell to 6-6.
