A couple of days after Billy Donovan mad it clear former prized transfer Damontre Harris wasn't part of his plans, the school officially parted ways with Harris.
The 6-10 South Carolina transfer had been suspended due to a violation of team rules. Harris was dismissed, the school announced Saturday.
In a statement Donovan said "We'd go a week without hearing from him... we tried to help him off the court and help him with some of the challenges he was dealing with, but there was never this reciprocation of wanting to be helped or wanting to do things necessary."
Harris was an all-SEC defensive player as a sophomore with 70 blocks and 5.6 rebounds, averaging around seven points as a Gamecocks starter.
