The Tampa Bay Rays had not been shut out in over a month, but Wade Miley and a pair of Diamondbacks relievers changed that Wednesday night.

Miley allowed just two hits while throwing into the seventh, and Eric Chavez drove in three as Arizona blanked the Rays 7-0.

The D-Backs got on the board in the first as Rays starter Jeremy Hellickson allowed a one-out double by Martin Prado, then hit Paul Goldschmidt with a pitch.  He struck out Chavez for the second out, and seemed to have Aaron Hill retired on a ground ball to short.  However, first base umpire Phil Cuzzi ruled Hill safe to load the bases, and Cody Ross gave Arizona all the run support Miley would need with a two-run single.

Chavez extended the lead to 4-0 in the fourth with a two-run homer off Hellickson (10-4).

Arizona got single runs in the seventh on an RBI single by Chavez, an infield single by Gerardo Parra in the eighth, and a solo homer by Goldschmidt in the ninth.

Tampa Bay has Thursday off before welcoming the San Francisco Giants to town for a three-game series starting Friday.  Chris Archer (6-3, 2.39 ERA) will start against Madison Bumgarner (10-6, 2.76 ERA).  First pitch is scheduled for 7:10, with coverage on 620 WDAE and 95.3 FM starting at 6:00 with the Suncoast Hyundai Dealers Inside Pitch.
