His line in the box score? Irrelevant. David Price pitched Friday late afternoon and that was what mattered.
What's more he felt well. Price threw 49 pitches and left to a road standing ovation in the third inning at Bradenton's McKechnie field, having gotten in his first game action in about six weeks after a triceps injury.
"It feels like you're pitching in the postseason with those jitters," Price told Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times, one of the dozen-plus media covering the Class-A game between the Charlotte Stone Crabs and Bradenton Marauders.
Price needs at least one more rehab start before returning to the Rays.
