Rays Players And Staff Express Themselves With Hats

The Rays embark on a three-city ten-game road trip that will take them from Chicago, through Boston, and finally to New York, and manager Joe Maddon is using the opportunity to kick off his first themed road trip of the season.  The first theme is a rehash from a couple of years back: "Express Yourself With A Hat 2.0."

Pitcher Jake Odorizzi, who grew up in southern Illinois as a fan of the St. Louis Blues, made sure to represent the team as they play in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Head trainer Ron Porterfield and assistant athletic trainer Paul Harker went for a more global approach.

Reliever Brandon Gomes decided to go with something furry in the possibility he may see some cold weather.

But the gold medal goes to Communications Coordinator Carli Todd, who designed a balloon hat for director of team travel Chris Westmoreland.
