GOMES FEELS GOOD AFTER REHAB GAME:  Reliever Brandon Gomes was back in St. Petersburg Tuesday after pitching in a minor-league game Monday at the team's single-A affiliate in Port Charlotte.  He threw a single inning, allowing a single and struck out a man while throwing 11 pitches.

Everything went well yesterday and more importantly I feel great today," Gomes said.  "Very minimal soreness, and no pain whatsoever in the lat."

The plan according to the right-hander, who has been out since May 10th with a strained lat, is to have him throw another inning Thursday, then be off Friday, and throw an inning-plus on Saturday before being re-evaluated.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUKE: Tuesday is also DH Luke Scott's birthday.  The DeLeon Springs native turns 35.
